About Us
PGCC TV is an award-winning educational access channel operated by Prince George’s Community College and available to more than 750,000 cable subscribers in Maryland. PGCC TV has one of the newest and largest high-definition production facilities in the Washington metropolitan area. The television studio houses a state-of-the-art master control room with theater-style seating; high-definition studio with a 24 x 14 feet Chroma Key green screen; digital audio booth; a custom designed news set donated by NBC4; and multiple non-linear digital editing workstations. A staff of highly experienced television professionals in the college’s Video Systems & Multimedia Productions department, oversees all aspects of the cable station from program concept development and video production to editing and in-house graphics. The staff produces original television programs and provides video production and multimedia services for all departments within the college.

 PGCC TV Provides Career Readiness Skills for Students
PGCC TV supports academic success and career readiness by providing a hands-on television laboratory for students studying mass communication. Students are actively involved in learning all phases of video production from shoots on-location to live studio tapings and control room operations. Students have also produced their own programs such as “Campus Beat,” and “Health Report Card.”

 PGCC TV Supports Teaching & Learning
PGCC TV supports teaching and learning by broadcasting course content for e-learning and by recording lectures, conference speakers, fine arts performances and special events on campus. PGCC TV also provides learning opportunities for students by including them as part of its live studio audience during productions like, “British Debaters,” “Literally Speaking” and the “Millennium Management Series.”
